    PRAY FOR THE USA

Father, we come before your Throne boldly in the Mighty, All-Powerful Name of Jesus and bow down before you as intercessors for our beloved country.  Your Word commands us to pray for those in authority over us that we may have peace in our land, and you look for those who will sigh and cry for the abominations that are committed.  We thank you first of all for giving us this great country that was founded on the Holy Scriptures and its principles.  Thank you for our freedom and manifold blessings that have been so generously poured out upon us.  What a privilege it is to worship as we please without fear of retribution.

We weep for many in our Beautiful Land who have turned from our great Jehovah and His Son, Jesus Christ.  We ask you to have mercy and forgive the terrible sins of immorality, violence, murder, greed, the occult and idolatry.  Remember the people who have loved you and stayed true to you and faithfully spread your Gospel around the world.  Send a mighty move of your Holy Spirit across our land one more time.  Visit our churches, strengthen and encourage our pastors, draw your people to seek your face and pray.  God, protect our borders and set into confusion any enemy who would attempt to hurt or harm.

Bless President Bush, the Cabinet, Senate, Congress, Supreme Court and all the Governors and leaders of our land.  Give them wisdom knowledge and understanding in how to lead our country. Protect the offices of our land from being secured by those with evil intent against the USA.

Dear God, protect our troops in foreign lands.  Send your Spirit to comfort them.  Loose your angels to protect every man and woman.  We pray the fear of God will come upon any who would try to attack them in any way.  Raise up ministers who will pray for them and lead those who are lost to the saving knowledge of Christ.  Bring them home safely Dear Father.

Lord of the Harvest,  we cry out for all who are lost and don't know you.  Draw them to Jesus who loves them so much that He took their place on the cross.  He bore their sins, sicknesses and sorrows.  Show them how much He loves and wants to save and help them.

In His Precious Name, the Name of Jesus We Pray, Amen

THE PURPOSE OF AMERICA
(Bill Bright, October 10, 2006)

He was . . . announced to the nations (1 Timothy 3:16, NLT).

Dear Friends:

Did God have a special purpose for America, causing this nation to be blessed beyond that of any other nation in history? There can be no doubt.

The movement west from Europe that later became America was started by Christopher Columbus. His first name literally means "Christ-bearer." Columbus was a devout believer in Jesus Christ. And even though his voyages had commercial purposes, he felt a strong, God-given destiny to carry the light of Christ to undiscovered lands.

In his diary, Columbus wrote, "It was the Lord who put into my mind (I could feel his hand upon me) the fact that it would be possible to sail from here to the Indies . . . There is no question that the inspiration was from the Holy Spirit . . ." Each place he stopped, Columbus planted a cross and dedicated the land to God.

The declared purpose of the Virginia Company in 1607 was: "The principal and main ends . . . were first to preach and baptize into the Christian religion . . ."

A few years later, in 1620, before the Plymouth settlers even came ashore in 1620, they made a covenant with themselves and God called the "Mayflower Compact." It began: "In the name of God . . . Having undertaken for the glory of God and advancement of the Christian faith . . . "

In 1643, the New England Confederation proclaimed: "We all came to these parts of America with the same end and aim, namely, to advance the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Patrick Henry, American revolutionary leader, said, "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ."

The stated goals of our founders have come to astounding fruition, far beyond their wildest imaginations. The United States of America has become by far the greatest missionary sending nation in history. It has been estimated that today America supplies 85 percent of all resources spent in the world on evangelistic missions. U.S. missionaries have brought hospitals, schools and orphanages to areas of the world which would have never otherwise existed.

This has been an answer to George Washington's prayer, found in his personal prayer book: "Bless O Lord the whole race of mankind, and let the world be filled with the knowledge of thee and Thy Son, Jesus Christ."

Yours for fulfilling the Great Commission each year until our Lord returns,

Bill Bright

                                                          TO KILL AN AMERICAN

(Author Unknown)

Someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.
So an Australian dentist wrote the following to let everyone know what an American is... so they would know when they found one.

An American is English, or French, or Italian,  Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek.

An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani, or Afghan.

An American may also be a Cheyenne, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.

An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim.

In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.

An American is also free to believe in no religion.  For that he will answer only to God, not to the  government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.

An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world.

The root of that prosperity can be found in the
Declaration of Independence, which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness.

An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need.

When the Soviet army overran Afghanistan 20 years  ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!

As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan.

Americans welcome the best, the best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best athletes. But they also welcome the! least!

The national symbol of America, The Statue of Liberty, welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the
homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America.

Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. I've been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 other countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.

So you can try to kill an American if you must.  Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and every bloodthirsty tyrant in the history of the world.

But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.
