MY VISION OF HELL

Isaiah 5:14
"Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude,
and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it".

David Wilkerson died on April 29, 2011 at 79 years of age.

Twenty five years ago, I awakened in the wee hours of the morning.  The Holy Spirit was calling me to early prayer.  Quietly walking into the family room on the other side of the house, Bible in hand,  I sat down in the dark quiet.  It has always been my custom to meet the Lord before everyone else is up and the demands of the day are still silent.  Shutting my eyes, settling in a comfortable position,  I began to worship.

In the distance, I heard the sound of a low roar.  It grew louder every second.  My heart began beating faster and my senses alerted.  What could it be?  The sound reminded me of a train or tornado approaching,  My eyes flew open wide and looking around, everything seemed the same and became  quiet again.  Carefully I peeped outside at the sky, but everything appeared calm.  Slowly sitting back down, resuming prayer, the scary sound started again.  This time, it seemed the Spirit of the Lord told me not to be afraid but a vision was being opened to my spirit.  "Trust Me," He whispered.

Suddenly as the sound grew louder and even more frightening, the eyes of my spirit opened to see the mouth of Hell.  My friend, believe it or not, it is up to you.  Before my horrified eyes, was a huge whirlpool of raging fire.  The flames swirled round and round and the roar of it will never leave my memory.  On the inside I cried out, Oh God, why are you showing me this?  Other people get to see glimpses of your beautiful Heaven.  Why are you showing me this horror?  "Because you will tell it and save many from eternal damnation."

My vision broadened and I could see the souls of men and women falling toward the pit.  They reminded me of how the leaves fall off the trees in the midst of autumn and tumble toward the ground.  Sometimes the wind picks them up and they gently dance downward but always eventually land.  The souls of the damned fell toward the great gaping inferno.  Part of them went straight into the fire but others landed on the rim encircling the pit.  Never will I forget the scene as they clung desperately to the slippery sides in terror.  I still see their faces looking over their shoulders and down to their worst nightmare.  The red flames reflected in their faces.  Slowly, their grips would be lost and they would slide closer and closer toward Satan's awaiting clutches.  Men screamed out, "Oh God, have mercy on me!  I'm sorry!  Forgive me of my sins!  Jesus, save me!  Jesus, I accept you.  Be my Lord!  Rescue Me!"

But it was too late!!! You see, dear friends, the souls were of men and women who had just died.  They had lost their chance to trust Christ on earth.  Jesus wanted to save them but they had waited too long.

Oh, the regrets and sorrow!  Oh, the unspeakable grief and pain!  Oh, the eternal sobs that will wail through the wretched corridors of Hell for ever.

Is God cruel to judge men so?  No, He spends their lifetimes giving them opportunity after opportunity to accept Jesus, His Son.  Hell only comes to those who choose it.

You may not believe this is true.  But what if it is?  If you do not know Christ today, do you really want to take even the slightest chance on losing your soul one day?

God loves you and wants you to be saved and have eternal life.  Only Jesus can save you from Hell.
