Dear Friends,
What a time we live in! There are so many voices expressing their opinions both in the secular world and in the Church. It can be overwhelming, confusing and fearful. Here is what the Lord is telling me: KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS! Remember when the disciples were in the boat crossing the sea in the middle of the night? Jesus came toward their little boat and He was walking on the water. It was dark and the disciples were tired. When they saw His image, it was terrifying to them and they cried out in fright. Jesus gently rebuked them for their lack of faith and reassured them that it indeed was He! Peter cried out, "Lord if it is really you, let me walk to you on the water!" Oh Peter, he often spoke before he thought! How many of us are like that...we make quick decisions and then wonder what we are into!! Jesus must have been smiling on the inside when he invited Peter to walk to him in the water. Imagine how Peter felt as all the other disciples were watching him and Jesus was waiting! he had to step out of the boat then or everyone would think him a coward, or double minded and not only that, he would never know if he could do it. His heart must have been pounding as he stepped onto the water. Precious friends, is your heart pounding today as you attempt to "walk by faith and not by sight?" Are you fearful of the waves crashing to the right and left and confused by the voices? Do you think your life is over and there is no hope for you? Are you worried about the future and what it holds? Here we see it, Peter cried out the shortest prayer recorded in the Bible, "Lord save me!!!" And Jesus just held out His Hand.
It is the same way today. Jesus is holding out His Hand and saying, "Trust Me!" Keep your eyes on Him, keep walking toward Him. Take it just one step at a time - and you will make it! Each step will take you closer to Him! He will keep you in His secret place of peace. Don't fret about the news, circumstances, family, other people or the future. Just stay close to Jesus. He will tell you what to do. Love Him. Love others abundantly... You may not be able to quote chapter and verse, preach an eloquent sermon or explain the details of end-time prophecy. But you can talk about Jesus and His Love...His mercy...His salvation...His every present help and gift of eternal life.
Father, I pray you will bless every reader with a calmness even now. May they experience your love and presence in a deep and personal way. Forgive them of past failures, give them a hope and reassurance of the future in Jesus' Wonderful Name. Amen
